Well, the leaders of the space station already knew that a meteor would collide with Earth; however, they did not warn people, as they did not have enough ships for everyone. Since only the elite of the station were aware of what would happen, they prepared ships only for themselves. The protagonist, being just an ordinary astronaut, did not know anything, although he suspected that something was wrong. His wife and daughter lived at home, while he remained at the station, which was in another state.

A month before the meteor collided with Earth, he was called for intensive training. Just two days before the collision, he received a voice message from his daughter, but he could not listen to it, as cell phones were not allowed during training.

On the day the meteor was about to hit Earth, he noticed some leaders preparing the ships for takeoff. Knowing that he had no mission in space, he sneaked into one of the oldest ships, the one where he used to hide with his companions to celebrate. When he saw some guards approaching, he hid in one of the ship's rooms and waited, listening to the activation sounds. It was then that he realized that the ship had been activated and locked, with him inside. The ships began to take off towards space. He tried to return, but the ship was programmed to autopilot. In a desperate attempt, he sent a message to his daughter, but without success due to the limited range. Soon, he noticed a strange movement in the ship and a very loud explosion noise; looking out the window, he saw the Earth in flames. The ship began to shake due to the shock wave, causing him to fall and hit his head on an iron cabinet, making him pass out. When he woke up, his memories of what happened were very vague.
